I think making this tutorial took longer than making the wings themselves...

A bit late for this halloween, the making itself only takes a few hours- it's just getting the materials.

A great place for getting cheaper feathers is ebay :D, I got 260 dove feathers for £12.30, which is much cheaper than in a craft store. Also, they fell off the doves, the birds were not harmed in the "farming" of these feathers.

but i'm a little confused. how do you hide the board where you can see the ribbon? with more feathers or is it just like that?

I'm afraid it's just like that. You could cover it with feathers if you wish, but personally I feel like it wouldn't matter since you can see the ribbon on the arm straps anyway.
